Dr. Benjamin Schlechter, M.D., F.A.C.S., a board certified plastic surgeon, is the founder and medical director of The Spa at Spring Ridge. Dr. Schlechter is a native of Berks County, Pennsylvania. Dr. Sergio Proserpi, was the first plastic surgeon in the area and the original founder of our surgical center. He was a friend of Dr. Schlechter’s family and encouraged him from childhood to pursue a career in plastic surgery. Dr. Schlechter is committed to continuing his legacy by providing meticulous care to each patient and extending genuine, family-oriented hospitality in every interaction.
With his 20 years of surgical experience, Dr. Schlechter has performed thousands of cosmetic procedures and has always been at the forefront of the newest technology. Performing all is his procedures in a private state-of-the-art surgical facility in cooperation with a sensitive, skilled staff ensuring that you are in the hands of professionals that you can trust. He bases all his recommendations on his patient’s individual and medical needs. His patient approach is a personal one, taking all the necessary time during the consultation, treatment and recovery.
A highly qualified and caring surgeon Dr. Schlechter is board-certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In recognition of his commitment to excellence, Dr. Schlechter has been named Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at St. Joseph’s Medical Center of Reading, Pa, and he is the Medical Director of the Reading Surgery Center.
As the Medical Director of the spa, Dr. Schlechter plays an integral role in product selection, skin evaluation and recommendation, staff training, as well as overseeing pre and post operative skincare for his cosmetic surgery patients. The importance of having a “Doctor in the house” in a medical spa setting is invaluable.
