What Is Medical Microneedling?

Posted in Microneedling

Facial rejuvenation procedures vary widely in technique. Medical microneedling is a unique treatment that uses small needles to promote skin rejuvenation for patients with damaged, aging skin. This treatment can refresh the complexion, soften skin texture, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and scars, improve tone and color, and create a more youthful appearance.

How Medical Microneedling Works

A medical microneedling treatment uses tiny needles to stimulate a healing response in the body. The micro-needles gently puncture the damaged and aging skin, creating small wound channels. This triggers an immune system repair response in which the body increases its production of collagen, elastin, growth factors, and new cells. Over time, the damaged skin is gradually replaced with new, healthier skin.

Microneedling Treatment Options

At the Spa at Spring Ridge, we can perform the following microneedling treatments to rejuvenate your skin.

Dermapen® Microneedling

Dermapen® is a microneedling device that creates small wounds in the damaged skin so that the skin will produce new collagen and healthier cells. The needles break the blood vessels immediately below the skin’s surface, releasing platelets and growth factors to promote collagen and elastin. Dermapen® is proven to successfully treat and improve issues such as wrinkles, acne scars, skin texture, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and pore appearance. Our aesthetician performs micro-needling typically in a series of four to six treatments to achieve the best results.

Dermapen® With DF Vitamin Infusion or Cosmetic Roll – CIT

After a Dermapen® microneedling procedure, patients can achieve maximum benefits by following their treatment with a DF machine treatment of vitamin infusion or self-treatment with the Cosmetic Roll – CIT. Environ® products high in antioxidants, vitamin A, and vitamin C can give the skin the nutrients it needs for optimum healing. Using these topical products immediately after micro-needling promotes greater absorption and improves collagen stimulation.

Ultimate Eye Treatment With FOCUS CIT

This treatment is for the delicate skin around the eyes. FOCUS CIT provides microneedling, and a gentle peel along with the infusion of peptides and vitamins A and C help to correct dark circles, puffiness, and crow’s feet.
