What is Hyaluronic Acid and why is it good for your skin?

The word Hyaluronic Acid has had to hit your ears. It is one of the most talked about ingredients for skin care. Some people are unsure though what it actually is or does. Hyaluronic Acid is great for your skin and has been around for a long time. When you hear the word acid a lot of people get concerned but Hyaluronic Acid isn’t harsh on the skin at all. All skin types can use it too which is great! It plumps, hydrates, and keeps the skin appearing youthful!

What is Hyaluronic Acid? We actually have Hyaluronic Acid in our bodies. Our joints, nerves, hair, and even eyes are lubricated and cushioned through it. The younger you are the more you have and as you age the Hyaluronic Acid depletes. That’s why babies have such beautiful glowing skin! With the depletion of the Hyaluronic acid fine lines, sagging skin, and dryness occur.

How can I incorporate Hyaluronic Acid into my skin care regimen? At The Spa At Spring Ridge we have many products containing Hyaluronic Acid. A few are listed below.

  • Jane Iredale- Liquid Minerals- This is a foundation as well as a treatment. It contains Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, and Coenzyme Q10. Liquid Minerals will plump, hydrate, calm inflammation, diminish appearance of fine lines, even out skin tone and more.
  • Skin Ceuticals- Hydrating B5 Gel- This gel contains vitamin B5 and Hyaluronic Acid to leave skin feeling hydrated, smooth, as well as help maximize the benefits of your daily moisturizer.
  • Revision-Hydrating Serum- Reducing fine lines and wrinkles, providing antioxidant benefits, and moisturizing the skin in a light weight fashion is what this product is great for. It contains Sodium Hyaluronate which is the sodium salt of Hyaluronic Acid.
  • Comfort Zone- Skin Regimen Juvenate- Pro Booster-With Retinol to stimulate cell turnover, Hyaluronic Acid to help bind moisture to the skin, and Maslinic Acid for anti inflammatory properties make this a great anti aging and correcting serum.

Is Hyaluronic Acid safe? Yes it is considered very safe. Very rarely people have allergic reactions. If you would experience an allergic reaction discontinue use.
