How Is Laser Tattoo Removal Performed?

Tattoo removal with the PicoSure® laser uses PressureWave™ technology. This technology uses ultra-short pulses of light to shatter the tattoo ink into tiny particles, which are then eliminated from the body naturally. This laser disrupts the target cells without injuring the surrounding skin, thus creating little damage and little downtime.

Does It Work?

The PicoSure® laser is safe and effective in removing even the darkest of tattoos (including blue and green ink); however, the total elimination of the tattoo will not happen overnight, and patience is necessary. Many tattoos require anywhere from two to six treatment sessions or possibly more to completely erase the ink. The number of sessions needed will depend on the size and coloration of the tattoo as well as your skin tone and type.
